Vornehmlich an der Grenze zu Holland fängt der 19-jährige Remo Jacobs das idyllische Landleben ein. Seine Protagonisten sind Pferde, Kühe und einsame Felder

Wie lange arbeitest du an einem Foto?

Das ist sehr unterschiedlich und ist immer davon abhängig, welches Motiv ich gerade im Kopf habe. Manchmal gehe ich in den Wald, finde die Tiere sofort und beobachte sie ein paar Minuten. Dann nähere ich mich an und mache genau das Bild, das ich haben wollte. Es kann aber auch vorkommen, dass ich Monate brauche bis ich genau die Tiere und Bedingungen vorfinde für das Motiv, das mir vorschwebte. Bei diesem Bild habe ich zum Beispiel zwei Monate gebraucht, bis die einzigen beiden weißen Kälbchen – die hier in der Herde leben - endlich zusammen gekuschelt haben und die Bedingungen für das Foto gut genug waren.

Was war zu erst da, die Leidenschaft für Tiere oder für die Fotografie?

Die Leidenschaft für die Tiere. Ich bin in einem Haus im Wald aufgewachsen und habe jede freie Minute draußen verbracht. Ich habe die Tiere im Wald immer stundenlang beobachtet – egal ob es Rehe, Kühe, Vögel, Salamander oder Insekten waren.

Was machst du im eigentlichen Leben?

Im eigentlichen Leben bin ich Chemiestudent an einer Fachhochschule in den Niederlanden und spezialisiert auf Materialwissenschaften.
