My name is Denina. I am a 27 year old engineering PhD student at Yale University in New Haven. I work in a lab that applies molecular biology to solve engineering problems. Among other projects we use proteomics and genomics to engineer pathways for enhancing biofuel production from microalgae.
I spend most of my time on detecting bacteria in air for my PhD project - so far this year I traveled to Denmark, Germany, China, and within the US for my research. In my free time I run, climb, play lacrosse, surf, and meet friends, old and new alike.
I received the camera in New York City from my friend Lydia whom I met for the first time in Beijing on New Years Eve 2010. I promised to take good care of the camera while I was in New Haven. I will make a trip to New York on the weekend and will try to find a trustworthy person there to continue on the camera's journey.
